Joanne (Briggs) Seagers, middle daughter of Elbert and Mary Briggs, departed this life on Sunday, July 25, 2010 after a long battle with cancer.
She was a long-standing member of the congregation of Ezion Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church until she moved to Nashville, Tennessee in the summer of 2006.
She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Francis Seagers; and her sisters, Selena Bishop of Wilmington, DE and Ida Carter of Nashville, TN.
She leaves to cherish her memory: step-mother, Sarah Briggs; step-brother, Donald Matthews; brother-in-law, Samuel Carter, Sr.; two nieces, Carla Briggs and Nica Carter; nephews, Sam Carter, Jr. and Nicholas Dance; devoted goddaughter, Kim Tate; and a host of other extended family and friends.
Joanne's wish to be cremated has been carried out by the family in Nashville. There was a memorial service held in her honor on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at The Victory Church located at 3447 Brick Church Pike; Nashville, TN 37207.
